Hindi ABC — an interactive alphabet book
The book aims to provide a better understanding of the complex letterforms, while also promoting creative thinking amongst children at an early age.
It is a simple celebration of Hindi typography, a language with such interesting and intricate letters that have not quite been appreciated yet.
It follows the ‘varnmala’ traditional Hindi alphabet chart, and uses a wide variety of interactive techniques such as pop-up shapes, flaps and pull tabs.
The red tabs on each page serve as indicators of the interactive elements, which help prompt the child to understand the transformation of one letter to the next.
The horizontal bar which is found on top every letter of the alphabet, is an element that remains constant throughout the book.
The goal is that after going through the book, children realize that learning the alphabet is not something that they ‘have to do’ but instead is something that they ‘want to’ understand, learn and be proud of!
